Valerie Girod is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and has over 16 years of experience in the social service field. Valerie has been a Clinical Director for several programs in the valley, but enjoys providing therapy to individuals and families the most. Valerie believes strongly that the relationship built between the client and Therapist is very important in order for trust to be developed and people to feel comfortable sharing their feelings and experiences with her. Valerie works with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors and provides individual, couples, and family therapy. She believes her life experience as well as her education has assisted her in providing excellent services to the people she works with. Valerie understands that taking the first step towards getting help can be the most difficult and looks forward to gaining your trust and helping you regain peace and happiness in your life.


Shelley Stisser, MA, LPC, earned her bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Denver in 1973. She has extensive travel and life experience, completing her first three years of undergraduate work in France and working as an au pair there. After several years as a business owner, she went on to earn her Masters in Psychology at Argosy University, California. Shelley moved to Arizona in 2004 with her husband. She has been working as a licensed therapist seeing a wide range of adult clients. Her training and passion focuses on women’s self-esteem issues, depression, family of origin patterns, maturity issues, recovery and expressive art therapy. Shelley has also worked as an expressive therapist at Remuda Ranch women’s facility in Wickenburg, Arizona where she specialized in eating disorders, body image, as well as emotional and recovery issues. She integrates cognitive behavioral therapies with compassion in order to help her patients gain insights into dysfunctional coping patterns and relationship issues. She helps her clients discover more affirming, healthy and growth focused ways of interacting with themselves and others. Shelley also has many years of experience in leading groups focused on topics such as boundaries, safe people, divorce care and women’s recovery issues.


Andee Bufkin-Fry is a Masters level Professional Counselor licensed with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health. Andee has over a decade of experience in the counseling field working with adults, children, and families of all ages. Andee's goal is to provide you with goal-oriented, confidential therapy in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Her specialties include dealing with anxiety related issues, depression, personality and mood disorders, communications skills, as well as child/adolescent behavioral disorders.


Diana Apolinar is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Arizona and New York. She entered the social services field in 1994 after she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and started providing counseling services to individuals, groups, and families in 1998 after she obtained her Masters degree in Social Work.  Diana utilizes various treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to assist clients with resolving past traumas and grief, overcoming feelings of depression and anxiety, increasing their self-esteem, and enhancing their relationships with others. Diana has a special interest in working with couples and believes that many relationships can be restored by improving communication and learning healthy ways to meet each other’s needs while also maintaining an individual sense of self and striving to achieve personal growth.  She also has an interest in working with adults and adolescents who have been subjected to dysfunctional family patterns including neglect and abuse, and who have a desire to change maladaptive behaviors, develop healthy ways of coping, and attain more fulfilling lives. Diana is bilingual (Spanish-speaking) and has had the opportunity to work with populations of different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Additionally, she has awareness that people’s cultural and spiritual beliefs can play a significant role in their lives and is sensitive in addressing these needs. She provides services in a caring and respectful manner while working to establish trust, a factor which she considers essential in the therapeutic relationship and one which is necessary for promoting change.

Diana Apolinar es una psicoterapeuta que provee servicios  de consejería en la comunidad. Ella obtuvo su licenciatura en psicología en 1994 y su maestría en trabajo social en el 1998.  Desde entonces, ha proveído servicios de consejería a individuales, grupos y familias. Diana utiliza diferentes modalidades de tratamiento para ayudar a clientes a superar traumas, sentimientos de ansiedad o depresión, y dolor por pérdidas o fracasos en la vida, como también ayuda a sus clientes aumentar la autoestima y mejorar sus relaciones con otras personas. Diana tiene un interés especial en trabajar con parejas y opina que muchas relaciones se pueden restaurar si se mejora la comunicación entre ellos y si aprenden maneras saludables de atender a las necesidades del uno al otro mientras que al mismo tiempo mantengan su sentido de individualidad y se esfuercen por obtener crecimiento personal. A Diana también le interesa trabajar con adultos y adolescentes que han sido sometidos a patrones disfuncionales como el abuso y la negligencia y quienes tengan el deseo de cambiar comportamientos des adaptativos, desarrollar maneras saludables de enfrentar situaciones difíciles, y lograr vidas mas plenas. Diana es bilingüe.  Se desenvuelve con soltura en inglés y español y ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar con personas de diferentes orígenes étnicos y niveles socioeconómicos. Ella tiene conocimiento de que las creencias culturales y espirituales de las personas toman un papel significante en sus vidas y por lo tanto muestra sensibilidad a estas necesidades. Ella provee servicios con empatía y de manera profesional y a la misma vez se esmera por establecer una confianza terapéutica, cual es primordial en la terapia y necesaria para promover cambios.
